hard landscaping and bed building at GFJ
Doing the hard landscaping work at one of the Aspire Schools. The hexagonal oak seat will also be a sundial and compass. And the plantings will include fruiting trees and shrubs, kiwi vines and a bamboo grove. The beds are sheet mulched with zoocompost and straw, woodchip and card. In the foreground we have excavated a hole for a new pond.

This project transformed a leaking and ugly flat roof into a 210 square metre garden of over 180 species of edible and medicinal plants from around the world. The garden is comprised of many recycled and reclaimed materials and is fed by composted waste and stored rainwater It is an excellent teaching resource for exploring issues around sustainability and other global issues.
