Fantastic clip of Mike Feingold on his permaculture allotment in Bristol. I have had the pleasure to run three courses with Mike over the years, as well as him running the PDC that I attended myself at CAT in 1995. Enjoy!

Latest news for July and August

Hi, thanks for checking us out as they say … its all go at the Workhouse at the moment, just recovering from the Workhouse festival last weekend and thinking about what happens next. In many ways it was the most successful festival yet.. in that it really went smoothly and everyone who came seemed to have a great time. The only sortfall was that we sold a lot less tickets and have to struggle to just about break even finanically. Which is tough for all the hard work that went into it, as well as challenging the Workhouse to think how it can pay its mortgage. That aside, for personal networking, just people coming together really to celebrate and enjoy and importantly to share ideas and enthusuasim it was really sucessful and it stands us in good stead for the future.

So what next? well we need to bring the Workhosue alive and we are going to do it with a summer of green crafts and folk and ceilidh music. We are going to be open every Thursday, Friday Saturday Sunday over the summer, running green crafts workshops and generally being open for people to drop by nad see what is happpening, We will be steam bending wood, shaving and forming parts for our own Pikea brand of home made welsh yurts. We are spinning knitting and dying welsh wool. Making musical instruments like mandolins.. turning wood, building raised beds, running gardening workshops and a whole lot more. All of this is part of the build up for the Workhouse Green Fayre we are holding here over the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of august.

More soon!
